A Promise I had to Keep

I promised I could make cuff links... Never had I made cuff links, Had no idea how to make cuff links, Oh Lord, What did I get myself in???

Well, they aren't perfect. I tell my children all the time that Nature is not perfect, we are not supposed to be perfect and by all means our creations, our art work is not supposed to be perfect either. So why then did I lose sleep over these? Have no idea but I sure did. They weren't the same size, one weighed more than the other, one was flat and one was bumpy. Oh why why why did I promise to make these. And to say the least the links themselves are quite pricey. I cant remember exactly what I paid for them but I remember thinking "is this lady sure she wants to spend this much money?, she must be a little nuts...or either she has a boat load of cash stashed ". Anyway the cuffs are made from fine silver , molded using two small children's fingerprints. I stamped their names and birth dates on the inside.

After much stress and worry , I now can look at them with pride and smile. I actual think they may be one of my favorite pieces.

Predictions and My DAD

Ok so I must confess... I love to read horoscopes and predictions. As a kid, my father always planted and harvested according to the farmers almanac. My pups

ok so I noticed something this week. Everytime I tweet or fb a picture of one of my dogs.... my emails blow up!! hahaha ok what are you all trying to tell me. Granted I have two hysterical dogs. Hurley my beautiful brindle boxer recouping from a serious broken leg, almost lost the leg...and then there is lennox...aka winksie...what can I say about this one. well first off , not sure what he is..boxer, boxer american bull dog...plain ole mutt??? dont know and really dont care..he is a totally hysterical hammerhead. He has the highest threshhold for pain...not saying we hurt him.... that I have ever seen. He runs into walls, falls down steps, off of things..runs into the invisible fence to chase after his two leggeded sisters...and well...just stands there with the ever so slightest of twitching...sort of like an annoying horse fly is biting him. Well bless his heart he is the cutest 90 pound big ole baby you ever laid your eyes on. His tongue is way to long for his mouth so it hangs out most often than not leaving wet spots everywhere he goes. and kisses...o lord your need a towel to clean your face up afterwards...

The terrariums started outta just bordem and the need to do something other than jewelry. Just wait I will be posting pics in the near future of a painting that I just cant wait to start. Been a few years but the desire to paint is stong and I really think I need to jump on it before it passes. What a happy pendant. Just over an inch- it is thick and bright with tetured edges lending itself rather rustic, or maybe something you would see some cowgirl wear, A bright happy little flower is accented with wat I can only descripe as a lemon drop chalcedony...love love love this pendant. time to get back to work

well, after a much needed break I need to go back into my studio and start creating. Christmas was very successful this year. It is such a double edge sword for me. I love the work, I love to create and I love to make my new friends and customesr happy. However, with that being said, it totally sucks having to work thru Christmas. I didnt have time to shop, I didnt have time to go look at the lights, I didnt have time to wrap the gifts....all the wonderful and fun aspects of Christmas, my husband got to do. So I have learned a lot from this years Christmas on how to prepare and be ready for on set of all the orders. I am gonna dig my heels in next year and have my best ever season! So even as tired as I am ...I am getting back in there and gonna try to come up with new creative pieces for my customer. Valentines right around the corner.
